In 2010 Haiti was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake. The death toll from this quake was catastrophic, in part due to the poor construction standards of the island’s buildings.
In 2011, All of God’s Children found a way in which we could help in some small way. We were placed in contact with the Mission of Hope Orphanage there and asked how we might help. The orphanage answered by asking if we could provide funds for the children to have new school uniforms (this is a requirement for the kids to be able to attend school). We were delighted to be able to help in this way.
Since then we have kept in contact with the Orphanage. We recently bought a new commercial freezer and refrigerator for the orphanage. We would also like to help them raise money to create a garden that provides food for the kids and money to build chicken coops to establish a consistent egg supply. This will help the orphanage in becoming more self-sustaining and instill in the children a strong work ethic that will one day help them provide and thrive for their own families.
If you would like to help the children of Mission of Hope Haiti, please designate “Haiti Project” in the notes section when you donate today.
